On Wednesday, May 25 a city fireman died in a two vehicle crash in Morgantown.
According to Morgantown police, the accident happened at around 10 a.m. on Route 119 between the Hornbeck Road and Scott Avenue intersections near the I-68 on ramp. It appears that 41 year old Vanden King who was a city fireman, was in a 4-door Audi silver sedan which was hit by a Ford F 350 being driven by 67 year old Harold Lipscomb of Bruceton Mills. According to investigators, Lipscomb was turning left off of U. S. 119 to access Interstate 68 eastbound when his truck hit the sedan driven by King.
King was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he was declared to be deceased.
Lipscomb was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
