There have been several complaints about dangerous driving on part of Grafton Road, just outside Morgantown.
Part of the reason is that there is a temporary traffic signal in front of a construction area, and people do not want to wait and take no notice of the traffic light. This is making the area both scary and dangerous, especially as there are many people taking children to school in their vehicles as well as school buses.
It is feared that there will not only be an accident but possibly a fatal head on collision as those who speed through the red light cannot see the oncoming traffic.
Police say that deputies are writing tickets for the offenders and they will ensure that deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office are in the area at busy times.
In the meantime some are even too scared to use the road until the construction is completed.
